Meditation II: Amber Tear

Here stilleness is evoked through the Lotus flower and the silver charm of Buddha sitting still in its centre. A symbol of Enlightenment the Lotus flower, its white colour and the white translucent paper reminders of purity and clarity of thought, surround the small charm, a symbol of Buddha Nature or Christ Consciousness or Nirvana, a state of inner bliss. The piece of small amber glass serves various goals: a symbol of the properties of fossilized resin (timeless), a jewel in the Arabic world and a chid's name (precious and hopeful), an association with the Sun in ancient Greece (light and energy), offers protection from all that may hinder our journey towrds the Self. Silver, the metal associated with the Moon, is necessary to allow for a look within and the acceptance of the uncertainties such an honest look entails.
