Impersonal Connection
Beloved companion, do you remember the tear-drop,
the one you shed the time you last saw me,
the one you comforted in your burning palm,
allowing to satisfy my thirst?
Entrusted friend, do you remember the night,
the one the moon left the sky and
gracefully landed on our faces,
glittering the stars of our despair?
Long lost partner, do you remember the smile,
the one our unborn child so generously offered
to innermost naked beggars, resting in ignorance,
in the midst of our fading hesitations?
Dearly missed lover, do you remember the shadow,
the one your doubts intentionally projected on my trust in loving
you, the one your fears of allowing pleasure to embrace you,
casted on my fresh joy of caressing you?
Tell me, do you remember?
I clearly remember the lonesome tear-drop, the starless night,
the bright smile and the heavy shadow.
But, forgive me stranger, 'cause I cannot recall your face!
